Trace back to the early Terre Haute

You will be able to see pencil drawing pictures of commercial buildings, early homes, schools and churches of early Vigo County crafted by John Peddle in the exhibition in the Moench Hall of the Rose campus. It is exhbited for a month from Jan. 27 in next year. It will be open to the public from 10 to 4 Monday through Friday. Some of the buildings date back to the 1800s after soon Terre Haute was built. Historical museum of Wabash Valley

We can see a large collection of historical treasures about Terre Haute, Vigo County, and the Wabash Valley in the Sage-Robison-Nagel house which is built in 1868. There are historical rooms such as Victorian rooms, a toy shop, school room, country store, late 1800’s drugstore, and a dressmaker shop. There is also a gallery of changing exhibits relating to Terre Haute, Vigo County and the Wabash Valley. A big collection of photos, archival materials, and books is very useful to us, those who are searching history of Terre Haute, Vigo county and the Wabash Valley. In the museum, we can visit a large collection of original Coca-Cola aircrafts as well as exclusive products in our gift shop. It is because Terre Haute is the birthplace of Coca-Cola bottle. Historical diversity of population

In the mid-nineteenth century, a great number of German and Irish immigrants came to Indiana State to get works. By digging the Wabash and Erie canals immigrants could engage its projects and got money. Also, the success of construction of these canals contributed to more construction of canals, highway, railroad which smoothed the movement of more immigrants like New England, German, Ilish from the eastern state such as New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia. This infusion of immigrants is due to diversity of population Terre Haute in Indiana State.
